Revolutionary war: an introduction

The Revolutionary War is also called the American War of independence. The war began in on April 19, 1775. At the beginning of this American civil war the fight was between the Kingdom of Great Britain and 13 British colonies in North America but soon the war ended up to be a global war between European great powers. The war was ended in 1783 with the Treaty of Paris. Great Britain was then forced to recognize the independence of the colonies. Now those are also known as the United States. The Revolutionary War led thus to the birth of a new nation.
